A compact city where venues are close

All the main event locations are in the city centre or within a short walking or cycling distance or a bus ride from it. The compact city structure ensures that moving from one place to another is quick and effortless. This benefits the athletes as well as the spectators.

Harju Stadium

IAAF Class 2 certified facility, provides an excellent setting for track and field events.

The first athletic field built in Jyväskylä and has been in use since 1926 already.

Harju Stadium will be renovated by 2026, the 100th anniversary year of the stadium.

5000 seats in the front and back straights, 2000 other seats for spectators in the new Harju stadium.

The stadium and the naturally beautiful 1,6km track around it are located in the very heart of the city and at less than a kilometre from the Travel Centre and at a stone’s throw from the city centre.

Vaajakoski athletics field

The Vaajakoski athletics field has 8/6 running tracks with flexible Spurtan coating, which will be replaced with a new one before EMA 2027.

Equipment for track-and-field athletics available.

The grounds are equally suited for events and matches and have covered stands with a seating capacity of 1,000.

Accommodation

The hotels in Jyväskylä are typically located at the very centre of the city or at most a few kilometres from it. There are around 1600 rooms and 3000+ beds available in Jyväskylä. Plus 290 rooms in hostels and apartment hotels are available in the city area.

In the close vicinity within a 45-minute drive, there are around 4,000 plus beds available in quality accommodation.

There are about 200 Airbnb apartments available in the city. Also private summer cottages can be rented in the Jyväskylä Region.
